Lindsey (she/her) is a scholar, dramaturg, and educator based in the Washington, DC and Baltimore regions. She is currently a Professorial Lecturer at American University, where she teaches courses in theatre and arts management. Lindsey earned her PhD in Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of Maryland, and her research examines gendered and racialized representations of disability and madness in American musical theatre. She has published scholarship in peer-reviewed journals and anthologies including Theatre Topics, Studies in Musical Theatre, The Routledege Companion to Musical Theatre, (M)Other Perspectives, and Review.

A professional dramaturg for more than fifteen years, Lindsey has contributed to over forty productions spanning new-play development, regional theatre, and large-scale commercial tours. She brings research and practice together to deepen engagement with new and developed works throughout the rehearsal and production process. Her work has been seen at Everyman Theatre, the National Theatre, Baltimore Center Stage, Single Carrot Theatre, the Capital Fringe Festival, and the Goethe Institut, among others.

Lindsey also brings extensive experience in arts and nonprofit administration to her work. With a master's degree in nonprofit management, she has led arts organizations of varying sizes and has held leadership positions with the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas (LMDA) since 2018. She currently serves as LMDA's Executive Director, supporting and advocating for dramaturgs and literary managers across the Americas.
